Python, Machine Learning & Data Science

I would like to make a carrer in data science and machine learning. I have just finished my degree in physics. Do any of you know where I could start? Which would be the best introduction to data science?

Coursera has some interesting courses. One I did introduced data manipulation using python numpy, mathplotlib and pandas. It was free when I did it in October last year which made it worth looking at. It was a module of the specialization they offer called Data Science with Python. If you are competent in Python, and it's still free, I would recommend it as an easy way to see what those modules offer.
