Java and JavaScript?

What is the difference they seem very similar but I’m not sure. Minecraft was programmed in one of them. I don’t which one though? Thanks for all the comments

First of all, they are not that similar, because Java is forced OOP, and it's more strict, and Javascript is used to make achieve smaller things. Minecraft was programmed in Java

some difference between java and javascript: * java is not an interpreted language javascript yes * JavaScript has weak typing while Java is strongly typed * JavaScript is a web language, recommended for applications and websites. It is a more "creative" language that is therefore dedicated to the Front * Java is a language dedicated to Back and standalone applications (desktop and Android mobile) * Initially JavaScript was called LiveScript. Its name has been changed in JavaScript
