Do you believe, coding can make the world a better place?

Question

Not so long ago, I thought to myself: I want to be a coder, and I want to help people. But can I? And How? People suffer from a lot more than traffic jams...
Don't get me wrong, It is a great thing to improve the quality of life in big cities, but isn't it just pathetic? A lot of great minds could instead of making a self driving cars for the top 1% focus on the bottom 10% living in everpresent danger of death... under line of survivable without knowing anything about internet...

coding has affected the entire world, baka :^] it's just more obvious in the first world. you could ruin any economy if you removed all of a countries computers.
