Salesforce and Apex programming - good to learn it? Any future here?

is it worth going this way? Apex is similar to Java and I know Java quite well (working as a Java programmer since 6 years). Want to change something and this opportunity came in other company..

I am currently a Salesforce dev and It is mostly likely a Java and. can say pretty well that it has wide opportunity since Cloud is blooming nowadays
