Which language to use for mobile applications?

I can't decide between learning C# and Java for mobile application development. I've found out that C# through Visual Studio and/or Xamarin makes great apps for both Android and iOS however most people seem to use Java. Which should I use and why?

You can create android apps with a lot of Languages, Java is the most used, but you can start with other. If you know C#, use that. But i recommend Dart, is easy to learn and you can make great apps with that. Is a language made by google.
