Which projects I should initiate If I want to be a Software Developer or Game Developer in future?

Question

I always wanted to be a Software or Game developer. That's why I am taking my Major in CSE. Though, I think academics are never enough to be a good programmer. I'd like to kindly ask you can you please give me some low levwl projects I can initiate. You have to remember I am nearly a beginner. I'm on my second year of university. But, I have just created a retro game by watching youtube tutorials, not by my creativity.
