Is the "system" function in C++ going to be useless someday?

Hi. I'm a C++ Programmer and I'm a very big fan of the "system" function. as you know in Windows, this function is for taking advantage of command prompt in your programs and you cannot use PowerShell commands in this function. I have just heard that microsoft is replacing the command prompt with PowerShell. Is it true?

edit: I don't know whether they are switching, I don't really know the details either. :( But the system function is already useless in my opinion. Not only is it not portable, it is also slow and it literally takes seconds to abuse when reverse engineering, I have tried. Now your system("pause") suddenly became able to delete files on your hard drive, shutdown your computer and now you are part of a botnet or something. :)
