I think you should start doing practice on some project which is decide by you I.e. some educational website or anything you like by this way you will definitely become good programmer . and u can also estimate day by judging your self with your work. :-) thanks

depends on what exactly you mean if you want to learn html, css and javascript I would estimate 6 months - 1 year of everyday practice but I'm writing here about front-end developing if you want to learn back-end part (php, sql...) it will take muuuch longer ;) anyway don't quit it takes time but it's worthed :)

i don't think its tat hard to programme .. you will get awesome tools for it + learning sites and believe me , its a piece of cake . a studied java a day and made my first android app the other day

2 to 5 paid projects should do it. It's fairly easy to get a WordPress project and WP will test all your skills. You will also learn much faster on paid projects than on training projects. If you're dedicated to your cause you can reach a decent "junior" proficiency level in 1 years time.
