Is JVM available for android?

the JVM exists for android. in fact it could be installed in all kind of machines it belongs to JRE package and it works like a translator. All applications in java when are destributed they are compiled to bytecode and JVM understand it, so if this one is instaled in (for example) a PC or a xbox he would understand the "machine language" were he is and would do the translation, we can say that this one is like the bridge between aplications and hardware.
