XML refers to eXtensible Markup Language. It is a markup language which is use to transfer data between devices. It has a structure which is known as xml format.

Oviya arumugam no it's, but the w3c do use it to develop a number of other protocols. The XML, XSLT, XPath and XQuery specifications are pretty firmly established now, but the principal technical reference is at xml.org and is maintained by OASIS. Most people would be more familiar with the OpenDocument format from OASIS.
