What programs would you recommend to learn for web design and development?
I’m a beginner and I’m trying to complete a project for school that would help me code a website. I was just wondering what are the main programs that would help me learn to develop this skill.

Classic combo: HTML, CSS, JS (PHP) really easy to start with..
Edited: By program, you mean language program or just program like editor? Then Notepad++ is more than enough xD

Not to sound snarky, but if you were my client, I would need you to be more specific in defining a "working" website. Technically, you only need a text editor and a web browser. Even the default ones that come with your operating system will do.
