How do i learn Robot programming?

I am very much interested in learning about Robot programming but currently a web developer. Is there a specific language to learn or focus on that can aid in that? And I do know Robot programming is not just about the language so I would like to know what else is involved

No, JavaScript or PHP is not used in Robot Programming. As much I know mostly used languages for AI and Machine learning are Python and Java.

You can do robotics in JavaScript, but it is not 100% the same language you do use in web. For a start you might try something like sphero.
