I will suggest to choose one of the online platform like geeksforgeeks , hackerrank, litcode, interviewbit or hackearth. These platforms are good for beginners. Practice as much as you can to improve your logical thinking and problem solving skills.

I would suggest you to start with some course on algorithms.

There is a introduction to python course in edx.org. It's free go check it out.....You can also opt for a paid certificate.....The course is conducted by MIT.

For basics you don't need anything but for higher level puzzles on hackerrank, you need mathematical knowledge. I wouldn't recommend just going in there without knowing algorithms. Though there maybe around 20-40 puzzles which are easy level.
