Superintelligence by Nick Bostrom
The Master Algorithm by Pedro Domingos
If you find these books difficult to follow and understand, I would brush up on macine learning, deep learning and neural networks as these 2 books rely heavily on these fundamentals and further explore their design patterns. I really like Superintelligence and they use a great example about a "Paper Clip Factory" killing the planet. I dont want to ruin anything or give anything away, both books are great.
