I really like "Think Python" by Allen Downey...tremendous for beginners, and introduces important computing concepts for Python and all languages in understandable terms with "doable" exercises. Im very excited to have discovered this book... Free download from GreenTea Press. http://greenteapress.com/wp/think-python-2e/
