How to make web apps?

Hello all, I new to coding currently learning HTML CSS and then soon going to learn JS and JS frontend frameworks and at last I am going to learn node.js for back end. I think from all this knowledge I can be able to build a Website with Frontend and Backend. But do you people know what languages are required to create Web Apps and what are Web Apps? Are they diff from Web Sites? P.S I don't want to learn Java if it is required for web apps.
