Does it make sense to make a social-network-like website with Python?

A website where has users and certain functionalities. Or is PHP way better?

Yes, it make sense... But finding compatible hosting will not be as easy than finding a Php compatible host ( which are almost all )

As an example: Google uses Python to highlight important search results. But PHP has an 'easier' syntax and Communication Protocol. Really, PHP is usually paired with HTML CSS JavaScript . Go ahead and use it if you'd like. Just make sure to Know Your Stuff.

Python is better than PHP. Ruby is good too. Java is good too. But my personal favourite is NodeJS

To the other gentleman who said facebook is in py, that's not true. it's in PHP. linkedIn google youtube and raddit on the other hand are all in Python..
