Would this language work for AI?

Why is AI not coded with Ruby? It’s extremely fast (much faster than Python) and dynamic. I’ve read articles of why Python is usually used but I’d like to hear what you have to say. Thanks for your reply.

The problem with Ruby has been its ecosystem, or at least for me. The majority of Ruby's ecosystem is focused on web development (RoR and micro-frameworks such as Sinatra or Cuba) and does not expand to other fields. There are gems and tools to implement AI and ML in Ruby, but none of them has enough support (compared to its alternatives in other langs) or lack some features. Another point to keep in mind is that thanks to the aforementioned there is little diffusion of other gems. Most of the articles you will find on this and other topics are more than 3 years old, which is a huge disadvantage.
