Is it a requirement to have advanced knowledge in CSS and HTML when learning JavaScript and PHP?

I started learning the basics of JS and PHP, but I realised that both of them are embedded in HTML and CSS. Is it okay to just continue as it is?

Thanks! I wasn't quite sure if I should just focus on the two languages. I needed to learn both for work, but my HTML and CSS aren't good. Perhaps I'll do a refresher. :)
