No, Java is a different language than Pascal.

They are both imperative and procedural languages, but Java is descended from C++ whilst Pascal is descended from Modula (if I remember correctly) .

Java also supports OOP whilst the original Pascal did not (Pascal is much older than Java) . Object Pascal came out later and was the basis for Borland's Delphi language.
