35 and starting to learn some IT

I’m 35 yr old and wanting to change my career from Oil and Gad to IT. Any advise on starting a career in IT or it’s too late? I’m learning a bit of HTML and Python now but not sure what career path should i go with, considering my late start. Thanks for your inputs.

Webdevelopement is hot right now, as is using weblanguages like JavaScript to develop app cross platform ( see react native). there has been described as JavaScript everywhere which was fueled by node.js https://www.quora.com/Why-is-there-suddenly-a-Javascript-wave-everywhere-with-dozens-of-frameworks Datascience and machine learning are also really hot but you need to know math at university level to know what you are doing. Python is used a lot in this area. I recommend learning the web stack ( JavaScript html css php Python sql) learning nodejs and a nice frontend framework like angular 5 or react. Wordpress can also be useful if you know php and want to create a website fast Java is also useful since you can use it for desktop and android
