How do you stay motivated, even when learning a programming language is a bit confusing and hard?

I'm not so new to programming but I have been trying to fully grasp a programming language, just when I get a hold of the basics, as what most books cover. I lose all drive to make anything from the knowledge I have acquired. I'm aspiring to be a backend developer but the problem is that in university I'm taught about computer science of which I understand it's importance but the are some things I don't see myself using as a backend developer. how do you motivate yourself even when in doubt?

Having similar challenges recently I can tell you -- find your *passion* in coding and your motivation will stay with you 4life! Try to put your current knowledge into production at an instant, to always try something out before proceeding. You will start making connections in no time, which will give you a satisfaction boost, as well. Finally, try out a MOOC or two, where you get to do assignments checking if your knowledge is sound enough. After that you finish a small, complete project each time, which can be very fulfilling :) If you want, you can check put my bio code -- I present my favourite MOOCs there -- although mostly Python- and/or data science-oriented: https://code.sololearn.com/W2nvcMqTRi4q/?ref=app

I get that "learning something you feel will be of little importance to you part",i was forced to attend painting and art classes cos it compulsory,i could barely paint out the letter "A". i believe your solution might be persistence,if you read a basic, and forget it tomorrow, read it again, ill become part of you. lastly my motivation is my insatiable desire for money😋😋😋,you should have something you love, let it motivate you

you can learn a language as you create. the drawback of this approach is that you'll be doing a lot of backtracking in your project. You'll probably have to face the boring parts you skipped before but this time your motivation will be the project to finish.
