Best OS for Data Science?

What is the best/most used OS for programming in Data Science, Big Data and Machine Learning, using programming languages like python, R or SQL? iOS, Windows or Linux?

there is no real difference between them.

your first consideration might be wether the needed software (if you need software at all) is available for that OS. wether it be data analysis or visualizing data.

in terms of performance/speed i found linux better over windows. windows taking up too much system resources and too many background services running. i haven't used iOS though.
