For those saying bootstrap is best for responsive websites youre kinda right.But responsive websites can still be built with pure css,bootstrap is very unnecessary.i lld rather prefer jquery

I prefer to do everything myself. You can instantly tell if a website is using bootstrap or not. So if you want unique website do it yourself and use media queries

Bootstrap :) that's the way to go if you still want full control but also a nice responsive lay out. JQuery can come in handy as well.
