What is the interest of scroll if auto does it also?

Does auto and scroll have a difference? and of not why not always just use auto? thanks!

Values auto and scroll both make the content scrollable. The only difference is, in auto, the scroll bars are not displayed if the content doesn't overflow. On the other hand, in case of scroll, even if the content fits box, scroll bars will be displayed.

Using either one is good!
