Java Script and Java, which is the best to start with as a beginner and why?

Even though JavaScript is mostly used for Web developement combined with html and css, it can also be used in Unity or other engines. However, for general programming Java is probably the better choice as it is the easier entry to related higher leveled languages like C++.

JavaScript is easier for a beginner IMO because it has a bit clearer syntax, but it makes you to learn HTML & CSS in order to use it wide
