About PHP

There are many competitors to PHP: Python, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, etc. Why would I choose PHP over those when I plan to build publish social web application? What do you think? Cheers.

PHP is multi-platform (Linux, Windows, Android etc.), easy to learn, good documentation, free, good frameworks, many free classes etc.

it is not about choosing a language to build something powerful it is all about you and your intend to build world wide social network. For example Facebook is also created by PHP and the creativeness of Mark Zuckerberg. good luck man
