I think C is Procedure-Oriented Programming & C++ is Object-Oriented Programming.

C Old language, doesn’t have classes and is simple and basic. Used in operating systems, compilers, interpreters ect. C++ An improvement to C, has modern features like classes and lambda functions. AAA games, internet browsers, photoshop use C++. I think C and C++ are both important but are mostly used in different things. Good to know them both even if you will not use them often or at all later in life.

C is old, C++ is the "updated version" of it. Don't use C if you don't have to.
