Do you lose XP when losing a challenge

yes, but if you answer a least 2 , you get like 6xp , and lose only 5xp.
Don't focus on xp too much, the important thing is learn :)

yes generally you do there are two scores one is answer bonus and the other is match result so the match result is lost. match result is already fixed
