Tangerine is the primary font to use

serif is the fallback font to use in case there is an error loading the primary font

worked for me when was more specific about which elements

span, strong{
font-family: 'Tangerine', serif;
}

if you want to apply to all

*{
font-family: 'Tangerine', serif;
}
