Personally, I have a Lenovo K3 Note running Android 6.0, with 2GB RAM, a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, which I bought online for less than $200. After 1 year and still running like new (the price probably even cheaper now). Fulfilled everything I need, entertainment (gaming, music), daily chores, ADB for Android programming. I highly recommend this as a budget smartphone, and if you can afford better ones, look into the better models. I was also skeptical at first, but it turned out very promising. You can get stock experience with just a little tweak. Best deal I got in few years.

it should be android.. that's all.. it's an open source.. You could change the programming with ease there..
it's doesn't matter whatever specs u take.. but make sure that u know the purpose of each specs. The best part is, that you can know exactly, what to choose.. with this background

Recently I have heard of Nokia smartphones...(mainly Nokia 5)
Do u look forward to them?
Since I find them to be reliable and a bit different than regular chinese smartphones(Mi, redmi etc)

There is a guy where I work that turned a smart phone in to a dev system. It powers on it has 4 touch buttons on screen. One for C/C++, Python, Java, call/text. Each button launches a corresponding ide and the call/text brings up a contact list with option to call or text. He said it isnt hard to do but I cant do it yet. Its a Droid Maxx.

I recommend using something out of the Moto Z line. They have some good RAM specs, as well as storage, and they are very versatile. Plus, compared to some of the iPhones, they are fairly inexpensive (as far as smartphones go), and they run a sleek version of Android.
