why is there so many programming languages?

Programming languages evolve. Newprogramming languages often learn from existing languages and add, remove and combine features in a new way. There is a few different paradigms like object oriented and functional and many modernlanguages try to mix features from them both. It is a cycle.

each language seems to have its own purpose in the coding world. every language has its strengths and weaknesses, capabilities and restrictions. there are so many coding languages because nobody has yet combined their strengths into one ultimate language. (not that I know of, at least)
