well for going in the field of operating system first you have to learn fundamental of C and C++ programming language and assemble language and then try to grasp all concept in that language by practicing on different types of codes
you also have to learn concept of data structure by which you understand what algorithm and data type is better for execute any program by operating system

you have also need to study about computer architecture by which you will know how the particular program or problem is solved by operating system internally by using different types of concept of computer architecture like virtual memory, cache memory and so on
