python for microcontroller?

I do programming mainly for microcontrollers, rather than making Apps, or websites.. recently I am learning python for a school project using raspberry pi. So I am curious about if python can be used to programming for AVR, or cortex-M ?

Maybe I will keep using C for my stm32 boards, but will try python on esp32

What are the advantages of esp32 over Arduino?
