Can any body tell me what is artificial intelligence (AI)???

AI is an umbrella term that indicates an array of technologies and research fields, among which one may list:

- Neural Networks
- Cognitive Modelling
- Image recognition
- Natural Language Processing
- Path Planning
- Automatic theorem proving for Logics

There's definitely much more out there. As usual, it's a good idea to start with the wiki.

Basically, a set of mathematical transformations, simulating the function input-output-like mechanism, which propagates information back and forth until the final output (prediction) is calculated.
Sorry for a perhaps too little poetics here, but that's actually a really huge achievement of our science :)
