Web Designer vs Website Builder?

Share your opinions, why are Web Designers better choice and for what reason are Website Builders more and more popular every day? Are they stealing Designers jobs?

I think it's their hard hats, but I'm haven't quite put my finger on it yet.
Web Designers are better because they can potentially do a better job and consider things that a web builder or the person using it might not. They're more flexible and able to do things that you require, which again may or may not be done in the builder.
I don't know the stats to say that they're more popular or not today than at any other point. They've been around forever, so I've never given much thought to it. Personally, I'd just learn how to do it myself and not have to buy or hire anyone, but that's just me and you all. lol
Anyways, a possible reasoning to a builder would be money. If someone needs to save money, then that may be a viable option, or maybe they want full control, etc.. Could be many reasons I'm sure.
I wouldn't worry about it in regards to if you'll have work to do or not. Find the work and do it, easy as that. If you got another gig, doesn't much matter what's going on with builders elsewhere.

My opinion:
web builders = cheap, easy and perfect for when a client doesnt really know what they want but they want a website.
web designers = expensive, custom site, perfect for a client who has a vision of what they want.
I don't think they are taking many jobs. As many clients will still end contacting a web designer after they have played with the builders for a while.

I agree, as you say at the end clients always end up hiring a Web Designer, of couse if they know exactly what they are looking for. You can never compare these two becouse of Designers endless possibilities :)
