Personally, I think Python has the worst syntax of all the languages, and it hinders your ability to utilize other languages because it's teaching you to have training wheels instead of being able to actually ride your bike. So when you decide to go mess with other languages that doesn't babysit/hold your hand, what do you think is the likely outcome? You'll learn it better or you'll have a lot of habits that hinder you? You decide that.
Easiest language to learn is not learning one. Don't base things on if it's easy or hard, because some of the best things in life is difficult and takes time. As well, there is a LOT of difficulties that lie ahead regardless of which language you pick, what will you do when you run into hardship anyways? Quit? Go find a new project that is easier instead of just learning and persevering through the current challenge?
Anyways, Python is still a powerful language and very capable in what it does, so don't mistake what I'm saying. Python is something that I also know, and is something that I've used for various server side scripting purposes. I may not like it for various reasons, but it's still a tool I have on my belt for when I'm in a situation that calls for it. However, it's not my first language, and it's not the language that I would ever recommend to someone that's new. My recommendation is to learn any of the C-based languages and how real syntax works, and you'll be better off when you're going to learn the other C-based languages, which most people end up doing regardless of first pick.
Either way, best of luck to you. This is just my simple opinion and it's 100% bias, so take it with a grain of salt and make your own discernment.
