Where should one start to learn programming?

I am a beginner at everything about programming .how and where do I start?

learn the basic of programing, the very first principles then jump into programming languages . watch couple of videos about how a language works and it shouldn't take you very long . decide what you want to program in like building games for xbox or pc or building mobile apps or building websites or desktop apps or virtual reality or robotics or whatever you have in mind and do some research on what to learn then come back here and ask how to do it .
