😊 What's the reason why you code?

Why do you like to code? Do you do it only for fun? Or is it your job? Or do you do it since yesterday? Write in the comments.

I like to code because just from a text I can create breathtaking things. Moreover, the feeling when I see peoples using things which I created is great 😊

Honestly, I love puzzles. Programming to me is like just constantly doing puzzles so I get paid to do something frustrating and satisfying. Something I can take pride in. Also at my current job the code I make constantly helps people and makes their job better. So I'm helping people in the process.

Initially, I coded for the pure love of making a computer do what I wanted. After years of never having time to myself, getting calls to fix code I didn't write or user errors 24/7 (even on vacations,) I was completely burnt out and wanted nothing to do with it. Having retired, I'm back to doing it for the love of it. I look for ways to structure or optimize algorithms to make them simple to understand and maintain.

@John Your reason is very emotional. Sounds a bit like a history. I think coding is a destination for me.
