Should i make fake company websites to showcase skills in my portfolio or is that a no no to recruiters?

I am thinking of a way to make my portfolio rich and to show my skills. Is fake websites a good idea or there is other way for showing my skills?

I think it's best to contact local businesses in your area, ONGs, startups or entrepreneurs, believe me, not all small companies have a website, and those that do have one aren't always mobile-friendly, so you can offer your services to optimize them and add them to your portfolio 😊

It would at the very least show them that you have initiative 😊 I am curious as to what they will say. If you are able could you post the response you recieve?

I make mockup of company websites. And propose it to related company firms. If they are interested, I would further change it to form their actual company websites.

That is actually a goos idea, it costs me nothing to contact couple recruiters and get their opinions(maybe even get some offer :) )

I would admonish you to work for not for profit organisation to horn your skills, you can freelance for some company online also. it would build your portfolio rather than building website for skills. Employer are looking for past projects done to engage you and measure your competence
