I love the gold badge because it is shiny!!
It doesn't bring any benefits, but motivation and ambition... I worked really hard to get it, and it really motivated me to learn more and post more codes to get more xp and get this badge.. I think this is the only benefit

I don't think there are any benefits.
The ranks are just for vanity but most likely implemented for the same reason as levels: they encourage interaction with the Sololearn community to spend more time learning.
