Why do I have to solve the problems in practice?

I've completed some of the programming languages lessons some months ago and I used this app as a quick reminder for certain questions I had while making my own programs. Now there is this heart feature, that it makes you solve their problems in order to continue.. why do that if I already completed the lessons?
