Where should i start ?

Hello Buddies
I'm medical doctor and very interested to be a Programmer too.
I want to develop EHR( electronic health record ) software...it's in my mind what it may looks like

But i dont have basic computer science degree or dont know from w/c language should i start practicing as self-thought programmer.
Plz help me out how to bring this aim into a real life?
