There is a bug with real time tallies of upvotes.

This same bug might be associated with your XP tally.

The upvote tally bug does not show correct info unless the page has been refreshed.

You could keep a daily private tally and confirm if the tally is happening, but not showing.

Points are awarded as before on the language-specific leaderboards

This means that points on the global leaderboard are not linked to them

If this is due to a bug, it seems quite serious. Or is SL trying to change the point allocation rules?

Paul there is a bug about the XPs not recording properly when it need. Devs know about it, and this bug got the priority in resolving list.

Bunny It does not appear to be fixed.

After I saw your message I checked to see if there was an update in the Google Play store. There was not. I powered off my phone and restarted. Then I did one challenge. I won the challenge and it shows a 3 XP Answer Bonus and 32 XP as the Match Result. My overall XP increased 5 XP from 89169 to 89174. Which is not consistent with how it has worked historically.

I have noted changes to the XP awards for solutions...went from 10 to 5 after last night's update. Likewise, I noted that the XP awarded for successful completion of lesson projects has reduced to 15 XP in at least some of the lessons (I only checked a couple lessons when I noted the change).

My profile still shows as Gold, it was Platinum.

Some of the changes hint that a rework of the XP framework was undertaken and has unfortunately not gone well.

There is some XP restructuring happening, so I’ll get the details on that and make sure it gets back to you all. I do know that winning a challenge will give you 5 XP, drawing 0 XP, and losing will no longer lose you XP.

As for actually gaining the XP you earn, there is a new update with a fix! So make sure you have 4.21, and that should be resolved. Obviously let us know if it doesn’t.

Korkunç the Terrible Frusciante 🤣 The reality on the site is that you have the noobs, those that are here mainly for the social aspect, the XP chasers, spammers, the learners and the teachers. The latter group being a smaller group and one that is very valuable.

It does frustrate me to see solid posts or exquisite code ignored in favor of someone's happy birthday post. But that gets back to the groups above and why they use the site.

I like to think I am a learner and so like you, I don't really care when I am downvoted. But, I am annoyed by it's affects on noobs.

I too don't care about XP, it was a by product of learning. I would be fine with it's elimination.

I noticed today that a challenge only updated my total 5 XP, but the XP for the challenge was more. Also there was no daily streak bonus of 5 XP. I have noticed during the last week that it seemed like there was an XP issue, but I didn’t focus in until the last couple of days. I confirmed with before and after screen shots the above behavior on my user account.

Sololearn update on my android phone last night and I noticed that the solution bonuses were cut from 10 XP to 5 XP in many cases and also the project bonuses had been reduced to 15 XP in the lessons.

Maybe they are restructuring the XP system?

It seems others are seeing the behavior as well 🙃

Bunny I just read your update with the change to the Challenge XP. The result page after the challenge is still in the old format (that is where my numbers in the prior post come from). That will definitely create confusion.

This was a pretty big change to how the XP works and many on the platform are very into that (like the HTML challenge crowd and the challenge stormers).

Lisa's point on communication, in my feed, was spot on. Better advance communication would have resulted in far less consternation...just saying 🙃

And yeah, I may be biased, but I agree that those folks (including yourself! I see how much you answer people 💖) that take the time and energy to help others should be rewarded/recognized.

Unrelated: i am now picturing the course badges as Dark Souls bosses and that is a very unexpected & scary image.

If I take the amount of XP, I have now, then I need to win about 30 challenges every day in a hole year to reach 100000 XP.

It gets me quite exhausted thinking about that!!!😔
