'k' for black
'b' for blue
'g' for green
'r' for red
'c' for cyan
'm' for magenta
'y' for yellow
'w' for white

Think you are right. 'b' is already used for blue.

The way I (try to) remember this is that "b" was already taken for blue, so they took the last letter instead.
