I will explain by a example HTML Tag ❮Reference❯ Example An image-map, with clickable areas: <img src="planets.gif"width="145" height="126"alt="Planets"usemap="#planetmap"> <area shape="rect"coords="0,0,82,126"href="sun.htm" alt="Sun"> <area shape="circle"coords="90,58,3"href="mercur.htm"alt="Mercury"> <area shape="circle"coords="124,58,8"href="venus.htm" alt="Venus"> Well,The tag is used to define a client-side image-map. An image-map is an image with clickable areas. The required name attribute of the element is associated with the 's usemap attribute and creates a relationship between the image and the map. The element contains a number of elements, that defines the clickable areas in the image map.
