I have a doubt : while submitting a html form by using php:
if we have a button then we use jQuery & if we are using simple input type = "submit" then we use "isset" is this correct?? or I am missing something???

jQuery can be used if you want to submit the form without refreshing that page: if you want this approach then you also have to create a new .php file which will receive the data from the form submitted using jquery.
in the .php file created above, you need to tell if the data was sent fron that form or not, and that is why you have to use isset() to tellif data was sent to your php file
