[OFF-TOPIC] The meaning of 'good practice'

"It's good practice to name Variables like..." -Okay, this way I can improve my Skills? No! This post is for everybody who's not a native-english-speaker and not very practiced yet. I am not myself, and I learned that 'practice' means 'exercise to get better...'. It does not, in this case! 'Good practice' means, that it is like standard or a good way to do something in a specific way. Example: "It's good practice to beginn class-names (in Java) with a capital letter." means: It's good, when you do it.

Nope, you’re right. When you say “good practice” in that context, it just means it’s a good idea. But you could for instance go out on a run and say “it’s good practice” for cross country, and it really is practice, so you are correct, but it can mean the other way as well.

Here, practice means something that is done regularly. In this context "good practice" specifies to mean a good thing associated with it(Here, this it means the task of "naming variables like...") Well I am an Indian. And we follow the British English and not American English.
