Is Java the language to start with if I want to create android apps?

Java is the right place. but after you got familiar with it keep an eye on kotlin too don't worry. it seems that kotlin is actually easier than Java

Thank you! I am a complete beginner, so I'd like to begin from scratch and eventually create a fully functioning app. How hard is it to reach that point in your opinion?

it's not easy at the beginning .. but when you get a sense of have thing are done in Java. it becomes a joyful process of learning.......

one more thing..... download Android studio . and look for courses that teach Java for android and the Android site is a complete learning source
