Other than a Com Sci major, what other experiences do you need that makes you stand out?

Thank you. I’m new to this, bc there’s job postings in Epic and Boston Scientific that provides a vague label and description.

Currently, I’m a Biomedical Eng major and senior. So it’s too late to switch. But I want to be a Software Developer bc opportunities seem more available.

My question is directed to know what portfolio can I show to recruiters that I’m as almost as worthy as a Com Sci major.
